Wow...what a day!

On December 12, 2007, Kendall Ann and Sydney Lanette decided it was time to enter the world. That day has & will be sketched in my memory forever. Such a HUGE range of emotions from excitement to being scared.

Kendall broke her water at 6am and both girls were born by 8am. Before I could even comprehand, I was a Mommy. A Mommy...CRAZY!

They were early, 7 weeks to be exact, and tiny
(Kendall 3lbs 9oz, Sydney 4lbs, 3oz)...
but healthy and just perfect.

Over the last 2 years I have loved being a Mommy. To see how small my little peanuts were to where they are today, well it just amazes me. Every day I thank God for these 2 precious gifts.
We are truly blessed to have them
and we are truly blessed that they are healthy.

I'm excited to see what the next year will bring.
What new adventures will the girls experience?
What new things will they learn?
What will they like and not like?

To Kendall & Sydney...thank you for 2 wonderful years of my life.
You are my purpose for life.
My two shining stars, I love you with all my heart!

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

Girls being girls

Kendall

Sydney

It’s amazing how much the girls have learned and how quickly they learn it. Just the other day I said “shoot” and Sydney said it about five times in a row after that. Good thing I didn’t something else!

They love their Baby Signing Time video, that were given to them as a gift…thanks Lee family. I cannot believe how much they have picked up and remember. Both girls will speak and sign the words to us. AMAZING.

And yes they are true sisters…they love each but they do know how to fight. Kendall blames everything on Sydney, even when she did it. You’ll ask her if she did it and her response will be, “Sydney did it” or “Sydney no, no.” Don’t get me wrong, Sydney is not afraid to blame her sister either.

Funny stories

Where’s My Pie???

For those of you who don’t know, Sydney is a GOOD eater. She can out eat both Chad and I. She once ate ¾ of a box of Mac n Cheese. Funny thing is, she is a peanut…I have no idea where the food goes!!! The following story is just so her.

The girls took their normal afternoon nap on Friday after Thanksgiving. Sydney woke from her nap first and I offered her a small piece of pumpkin pie. Well, she must have really liked it as it went fast. A few moments later Kendall woke from her nap, a bit on the crabby side. I offered her a piece of pie and she didn’t want any. As I continued to try and give her a bite, Sydney appears and says (now remember, she just ate her own piece of pie): “Where’s my pie.” Chad and I just crack up. The serious look on her face of, "seriously where is my pie", the fact that her hands were up in the air as to inquire, was just a stitch. I responded with, “It’s in your tummy silly girl.”

What did you say?!?!

We have magnets on our refrigerator for the girls to play with. One evening, Chad was at the sink washing dishes and had his back to Kendall, who was playing with the magnets. All of a sudden he hears:

Kendall: “HEY, I can't reach that.”

Chad turns around, looks at Kendall and says:

Chad: “First off, you don’t yell HEY to daddy. Second, where did you learn to say a full sentence like that?”

A bad night with Daddy

I have been pretty busy at work these past few months, so on occassion Chad and I will switch drop off/pick up so I can stay late and work. Well one of these nights, while I was working, Daddy had the evening shift. This meant he picked them up from daycare, he made dinner, fed them dinner, cleaned them up and the kitchen.

It all started at the dinner table...

First Sydney thought it would be interesting to see what Daddy would do when she dumped her entire bowl of cereal on the table. Which she did, then glanced at Daddy. Then while she was looking at Daddy, she wanted to see how far she could go. So she then proceeded to take her hand and swipesthe cereal back and forth. It goes every where...walls, floor, blinds, you name it.

While Daddy is cleaning this up, Kendall sneaks into our bedroom and decides to play with fragile knick knacks...which they know they are to not be touched, only to be looked at. Daddy of course did not hear her go in the room, as he was cleaning up Sydney's mess. Then he starts looking for her and finds her sitting in the dark in our room.

While Daddy is looking for Kendall, Sydney goes into their bedroom. She proceeds to open her dresser drawer and pulls out all her onesies and throws them every where. When Daddy goes to find Sydney, well you can imagine how mad he was by this time.

So my question is...was this all a test?

Hee hee...I secretly had to chuckle when he told me.

Thanksgiving

We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving this year. Grandma Shelley and Grandma Karen joined us at our house for a feast that was divine. Since it was such a quiet Thanksgiving, we decided to pull out all the Christmas decorations and put them out. The girls were fascinated by them all. My favorite part, them trying to put the Christmas decorations on the tree. They couldn’t quite figure out how to hang them, but would try to just set them in place. Of course this would not work and they would fall to the ground. They’d try it a couple times, then look to us for help.

Oh…we did have a visitor however. A little Elf came to visit us and will continue to visit us each day until Christmas. He is from the North Pole and was sent on assignment to make sure Kendall and Sydney were behaving themselves. Each night he makes the trip back to the North Pole and updates Santa on how the girls have been. Each morning when we wake, he has returned…usually sitting in a new spot. I sure hope the girls impress him!

Daddy's weekend with the girls...ALONE

I finally had a chance to get away for a girls weekend in mid November. This is the first time that I have been away from the girls without Chad. It was a nice retreat for me. No responsibilities, no worries, no having to change a diaper the minute we got up in the morning. But I sure did miss them like crazy.

Daddy was home alone with them. And he did a GREAT job. I did joke with him that it’s funny how when he goes out of town with the guys, he only worries about packing for himself. When I go out of town, I have much more prep work to do. I made sure to pull out clothes, list what to feed them, etc.

Daddy and the girls just hung out at home all weekend. Matter of fact, all those clothes I pulled out…yeah not even put on. The girls were in their pj’s all weekend and Daddy in his sweats. Here is a couple pictures he capture of their low key weekend.

Kendall decided it was time to rest from all the playing she’d been doing. So, she gathered up a pillow, by herself, plopped herself on the couch and chilled while catching up on a few cartoons.

Sydney…well she thought a good place to take a break would be under the coffee table…
