The Summer Just Keeps Getting Interesting (6.26.2014)

It's Thursday afternoon at 4pm.  I'm on the bus on my way home from work.  My phone goes off, but I don't know it until the last ring.  I see the girl's school listed...wait to see if they leave a voicemail.  As I am waiting, Chad calls and says "are you on your way home?"  I indicate yes and ask why...when he informs me that Kendall fell in the playground on Summer Adventures and is hurt.

I make my way to the school and find the girls waiting with a teacher for me.  Kendall is crying (which hardly happens as she is the kid that stands up after a fall and says, I'm ok).  When I ask her to move her ice pack...I see the LARGE lump on her forearm.  I instantly knew...this is not going to be good.

We make our say to urgent care where they x-ray the damage and send us on our way to Children's in Mpls...where we are told, yup it's a fracture and she needs a cast.

Kendall is put under light sedation while they correct her bone and cast her.  After, we wait as she slowly comes out of sedation.  The poor child is hyperventilating and throwing up.  After we get her to calm down, she sleeps a good 1.5 hours.  Where she wakes every so often then drifts back to sleep.  At midnight we are finally released to head home as she is now alert.

She is a trooper.  Yes there were tears, but not many.  She handled the pain, the sickness and everything else like a champ.  She had her first bath in this picture and even wears a smile.  During her bath she tells me how she was seeing 10 of me after sedation and I had 10 eyes and 5 noses.  I can only imagine what she felt and saw whiling waking up.  But she says it all with a smile and laughs!

This will be one long summer.  No water, which is hard when you have a lake place and well it's summer!  Hoping the large cast is for a short period, but they are saying 4-6 weeks.  Then it's on to a short cast (which we may be able to get waterproof), then a splint.  Pretty much...she will be in this cast all summer!

Last Day of Kingergarten (6.5.2014)

I almost forgot to blog this one...how could I.  We made it through our first ever year of school and LOVE IT!  The girls are eager to be first graders and were already calling themselves so before kindergarten was done.  It was a very successful year!!!

We are so proud of you two...love you to the moon and back!

We ARE Cute...And We Want To Show It (6.20.14)

With non-stop rain for multiple days, we were finally able to get out and enjoy the sun...oh and the park.  Nothing is better than a picnic and fun times at the park...and two very cute little girls!

Father's Day (6.2014)

We had a wonderful father's day this year.  It was spent with Chad's second Dad...Chuck.  We enjoyed grilling and spending time with family and friends.

Thank you to all the wonderful Dad's that are in our lives...
Daddy (Chad), Papa Don, Papa Mike and Papa Chuck

Our lives are so much more fulfilled by being graces with your love!

We Love You All!!!!

Rain, Rain Go Away (6.2014)

Minnesota has received tons of rain this year.  It has rained practically every day.  Crops are washed out, lakes are so high that most have no wake.  Streets are flooded and homes are under water.  Here are a few pictures of our lake.  We had to move our boat from our dock due to it being 3 feet under water.  The first picture is the girls walking out to a dock and the second is the road to our dock under water.

Here is hoping that rain stops soon!!!

Sydney Hard at Work (5.2014)

We upgraded our phones at work recently, so I brought my old phone home for the girls to "play" with.  Sydney immediately grabbed the phone and went right to work.  I guess we have trained her right...let's hope it continues!!!!

Here We Go Again...(4.4.2914)

We went through this last year and Mother Nature has decided to do it again!  April 4th and in Lakeville we got 5inches of snow.  Further north, up to 10 inches.  Grrrr!!!

But, I will say thanks for the 60 degree day we got two days after this snow storm.  Good bye snow!

Fingers crossed that we are done...last year it snow into May!!!!

Chicago Trip (3.2014)

During the girl's first spring break, we decided to take a mini vacation to Chicago.  Before the trip we kept two secrets from the girls.  We were flying and Papa and Grandma Elaine were going to be there as well.  The flight was almost spoiled by me talking to my mom about the morning off and her bringing us.  When asked where Grandma Shelley was bringing us, I replied, oh we are taking a bus.  This caused them to be super excited...yup to take a bus.  So that morning when we showed up at the airport, that brought on even more excitement.

As we enter the plane, the pilot took time to invite the girls into the cockpit.  He showed them lights, how the plane was flown, rang some bells and a variety of other things.

The ride itself went just perfect.  I knew my girls would not be scared of anything when they raised their hands as we hit turbulence and they acted as though they were on a roller coaster.

After their second surprise of seeing Papa and Grandma Elaine at the airport in Chicago (which brought on more smiles), it was on to the Museum of Science and Engineer.

What visit to Chicago would be complete without a stop at Gino's for a deep dish pizza!

A view of Chicago from the Skydeck at Sears (now Willis) tower.

A beautiful day on the Navy Pier

What little girl doesn't love American Girl Dolls...had to visit the store and see which doll was their favorite.

Final dinner...a little Mexican at Su Casa...YUM!!!!

Fun Times With Our Cousins at Mall of America (3.1.2014)

A belated Christmas present from Grandma Karen and a birthday celebration, what more can you ask for?!?!  Grandma Karen's Christmas present to the girls was a day at Nickelodeon Universe enjoying all the rides.  The girls' cousin, Cecelia, turned 4 this past week, so why not celebrate both.  The kids had a blast and loved every minute!  So...Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday!!!!
