Happy Birthday Madison Rose

We spent our last day at the camper on Madison's birthday. She gave the girls party hats to help celebrate...along with some yummy cupcakes. Happy 4th birthday Madison!!!

Pumpkin Patch

It's that time again...Fall. Even though the weather is turning cooler and the leaves are falling, it is one of the prettiest times of year. All the colors, fresh clean crisp air...it's the best. In order to enjoy the this beautiful time of year, we decided to take a road trip to a local pumpkin patch. And we picked the most beautiful day EVER. The sky was blue, sunny and the temp was just right!!!

Tracy loaded up Madison and Cameron, while my mom and I loaded up the girls. The guys stayed behind to winterize the boats...too bad for them.

Halloween in September

The campground hosted Halloween in September. This was the first time the girls went Trick or Treating and it was funny. They didn't quite get the idea of getting candy. They take the sucker from their mouth, put it in the bowl of candy (of the person who was handing it out) and grab another piece. Even though they didn't get the "idea" they had a blast. They even won their divison, Toddler's, for best outfits!!!

Jack, the girl's cousin, was able to join us for some Trick or Treating as Jeff Gordon, Baby Cameron was the cutest pumpkin ever, Madison scared all of us in her witch outfit (secretly we she's too cute to scare anyone), and my girls topped it off as my "little bugs"...Sydney was a Bumblebee and Kendall a Lady bug.

Mommy and Daddy had fun watching their girls experience something for the first time.

Defeat of Jesse James Days

This past weekend it was Defeat of Jesse James Days in Northfield, my home town. I try to make it down there each year to see old friends, classmates and to just remember the past. This year was a bit more special as my mom was the Chair of the committee that puts on the celebration. She made sure the event went on as it should, people did their jobs and all ducks were in a row. She and the rest of the committee did a great job, as it was a GREAT weekend. The weather was also a bonus, which brought TONS of people to town.


My mom had a special spot in the celebrations parade and of course she wouldn't do it without her two little girls. She even made them special t-shirts for the BIG day. Kendall wouldn't say hi or wave at the crowd, just wanted to check them out. Sydney made sure to wave and blow kisses.

Why pee on the potty, when there is a floor...

Daddy picked up a potty today for the girls. We made a big deal when taking it out of the box and setting it up. We stripped the girls down to nothing and sat them both on it. They took turns, bothing sitting on it. And seemed to think it was pretty cool.

Then it happened. Kendall was sitting on the potty, when all of a Sydney decided to show us she knew how to go potty. Yup, right there on the floor. We quickly took Kendall off the potty and put Sydney on...but by this time she was done.

Talk about timing!

I'll Take You Down

The girls love to wrestle and mess around. Usually Kendall will lie on the ground and let Sydney climb, jump, bounce, you name it on top of her. They just giggle. And Sydney thinks she is the toughest girl in town. Truth is, Kendall could take her down with one hand tied behind her back.

Corn on the Cob

Being up at the camper all summer, we have had plenty of corn on the cob. At first we really didn’t give it to the girls, but they got curious and we finally gave in. I typically give them small pieces with no butter or salt and they love it.

Funny part is, they walk all over with it. So by the time we get to the end of it, you are looking at a cob that has grass, dirt, and whatever else may be on it from the ground.

Hey...My Diaper Needs to be Changed

A few weeks ago Kendall started telling us when she had gone poopy…and indeed she did. I was doing dishes one night this week when Sydney came up to me and it went like this:

Sydney: “poopy”
Mom: “Did you go poopy.”
Sydney: “Yeah” (while rubbing her butt and nodding)

Then Kendall enters the room, heads over to Sydney, pulls her pants back, looks into her pants, looks up at me and says: “No poopy, Mommy.”

I was laughing so hard. Chad and I will check the girl’s diapers by pulling out their pants and to see inside the diaper. This typically works, but this day Sydney had on an onesie, making it impossible for Kendall to see if she really had gone poopy.

I wonder what she would have said if she could have seen?!?!

Wonderful World of Words

Both girls have started to speak quite a bit and one of their favorites is: No. It comes so easy for them. Kendall do you want this…”no.” Sydney let’s go bye bye…”no.” Awe, I know we have many more years of this. But I will admit it is kind of cute.

Kendall has really grown her vocabulary. Some time we understand what she is saying and others…not so much. Our favorites:

“No Daddy no”
“No, Don’t wanna” or “No, Don’t want it”

Sydney is always wondering where Kendall is and will ask:

“Sissy, where’d go”

There are more words they say, from planes to animals to food. They amaze us each day.
