Cold Winter (1.2014)

The winter of 2013 into 2014 was cold.  Lots of cold temperatures hit us this year.  The worst happened on Monday January 6, 2014.  The weather stations predicted the cold far in advance and with that the Governor of MN, Mark Dayton, closed all public schools.  He did this on Friday, January 3rd...for Monday January 6th.

Then the weather started getting colder and colder and colder.  People did not venture out unless they needed to.  Monday morning, we woke to the weather saying:

Negative 26, but feels like negative 52.  Did this really exist?  I guess so.  The weather continued into Tuesday and once again schools were closed.  At this point the girls have been out of school since December 23rd for winter break, 2.5 weeks.  They and us were ready for them to go back, to get our life back on track.

Later that week the weather did get better with highs in the upper 30's that weekend.  In MN we are use to cold temperatures and are fairly hearty Minnesotan's...but what we experienced on January 6th and 7th, should not be experienced by anyone!
