July 4th 2009

I know, I know, I know…I have been a bad Mommy and not updated our family website. Life has been busy, fun, but busy. So to clearly tell you what has been going on, I’ll try to go in order of events.

The girls had their 18 month check ups. Both are healthy and looked great. They are both are in the 25% of their measurements. Sydney is about a pound lighter and an inch shorter than Kendall. They weigh around 22 pounds.

Each day we see more and more things out of the girls. They are talking more, which means they are demanding more. They inter-act more, both good and bad…they already know how to fight like true sisters. They seem to recognize things more. And we are starting to learn what things are…like shoe, apple, fish, etc. They have very different personalities, which is so fun to see.

Kendall is definitely the dominate twin. She leads the show and is usually the star of the show. She will try things before Sydney and she is definitely a risk taker. We will need to keep our eyes on her!!! She has the goofiest personality and is just fun to watch. We usually fill up their little pool at the camper and you should see her go. She will take a running leap at that pool and go head diving into the water. She is CRAZY in water, pool and lake. When it’s time to get out, we are NOT happy. Kendall is very independent and she’ll let you know when she wants to do something. It’s her way or no way. This could cause many headaches for us in the future.

Sydney is a bit more reserve. She is definitely the follower. If she sees Kendall doing something, she may try it. She is my little cuddlier…always giving hugs and kisses and wanting to be snuggled. She is not as crazy as Kendall and a bit shyer of water. She does like her little pool, but could probably do without the lake. I know Sydney will usually just go with the flow, which is nice when I have Kendall who will not wait for no one.

We have spent every weekend, except a couple, up at the camper. We love it. No worries, just fun as a family. We have done a lot to the place from the first time we set up. We have friends up there whose parents are rebuilding their cabin. By doing so they tore down their old deck and we were luckily enough to get a few pieces. We need to add on, but for the most part it’s all there. I’ve also added a little garden on to the front to hide the hitch a bit. I laid down some wood chips, hosta’s and trimmed it out.

The lakes up there are great. If we don’t like the lake we are on, well then we can move on to another. We don’t currently have a boat, but luckily our friends up there and those that have visited do. We do have an old ’95 Sea Doo, which is a lot of fun to mess around on. We hope to purchase a boat soon, so we can tour all the lakes on the chain.

July 4th was the perfect holiday. We had friends join us this year at the camper…the Lee family. And we had a couple day visits on Friday…Kleeberger’s and Chad’s sister Missy. We got lots of sun and no rain…well a couple drops Monday morning, nothing big just a few sprinkles. We couldn’t have asked for a better July 4th holiday.
